When I got out of bed in the morning, I did not expect to see this.

It turns out the hostel I stayed in is right on the street that holds Naschmarkt, a large outdoor market that’s been around since the 16th century.

I’m not too into markets, but in the spirit of my father who loves them, I walk around to check it out. There’s all the usual suspects, like produce, clothing, antiques, and of course, food. I get myself a cheese and spinach burek, which I’ve never heard of.

I decide to walk towards the middle of town, and pass by these vending machines, which are run by the tiny grocery store next door.

You can buy alcohol from a vending machine!

Also, birds in Vienna will sit.

I walk by Saint Stephen’s Cathedral, which is definitely one of the most impressive buildings I’ve seen so far. It’s so big that I can’t even fit it all in one picture.

I’m carrying all my bags with me, so I tell myself I’ll come back to visit on a weekday, where it may be less busy anyways.

I check into my AirBnb, finally glad to have a place to myself.
