I’m leaving Rome and I am sad :(

Today marks the end of my 2.5-week journey with my father, who I will not see for a long time. I see him off at the train station.

My train leaves at noon, so I have a few hours to walk around the city one last time. I walk to the colosseum to get one last look at it, and wander around the surrounding area.

This park near the colosseum has exercise bikes!

I’m trying to appreciate all the churches, so I enter a few. I particularly like the ones with chandeliers.

I go to pick up a sandwich to eat on the train. This time, I get a sandwich with panini bread, which I think is much better than the other sandwiches I had before that are too bready.

I have a 3-hour trip on high-speed rail to Venice.

Chilling on the train

As I’m on the train, I notice it starts to rain outside. I check the weather and learn that it’ll be raining for the rest of the day.

My hotel is on Venice mainland, and I head there to drop my things off. By the time I arrive I’m soaked, so I take some time to dry myself off and chat with Wolfe.
