I decide to go hiking today, and I’m headed to Kahlenberg, a mountain on the edge of Vienna. I take one of the city bikes up to the nearest docking point, and walk for 40 minutes through the city to reach Cobenzl, a lookout point on the way up.

It’s a beautiful day to be walking, if not a little hot. The mountain I’m on actually straddles the border between Vienna and Lower Austria, so I manage to snap some pictures of the latter.

I also get to walk through this path lined with the most white flowers I had ever seen in one place. I’m surprised that I’m the only one there, but I’m not complaining.

On my way back, I pass by an enclosure with a horse and a donkey. The horse neighs to greet me.

On the way down, I meet a guy named Stefan, who I chat with all the way back to my place. He’s really friendly, and we agree to go out for lunch on Tuesday.
